Cotolite is a high-performance reactive coating auxiliary developed for inkjet printing on cellulosic fabrics. It enhances the natural brightness of fabrics, improves print clarity, and ensures level shades with sharp outlines. By forming a controlled surface layer, Cotolite minimizes ink spreading and delivers excellent print definition.

It is suitable for use with all types of reactive inks and can be applied easily by padding or pad–coating methods.

Application

Cotolite is applied by padding or pad–coating before inkjet printing with reactive inks.

Typical Padding Recipe:

• Cotolite → 5 %
  
• Urea → 14% – 16% (depending on shade)
  
• H₂O → Balance (≈80%)

Preparation Method

1. Take 5 % Cotolite in water and stir until dissolved.
   
2. Add urea as per recipe.
   
3. Stir thoroughly and keep the solution for 4–6 hours before use.
   
4. Stir again well just before application to ensure uniformity.

Washing After Printing

• Start with a cold wash followed by soaping to remove unfixed dyes.
  
• Continue with a hot wash and then finish.
  
• Use recommended after-treatment auxiliaries (e.g., soaping agents, softeners) to improve wash-off performance and prevent staining.
  
• This sequence ensures bright shades, soft handle, and long-lasting print quality.
